With the three temptations Satan gave the Lord Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus overcame all those temptations with “It is written…”  He did not argue or rationalize with the devil.  This is also what you and I are to do…simply take our stand with God’s word… “It is written…” (See Luke 4:1-13)

Jesus had been led by the Holy Spirit “into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”
(God never, ever, tempts people to sin against Him, Satan does!)

Jesus purposely went into the wilderness to be tempted!  Why would God the Holy Spirit purposely lead Jesus into 40 days of fasting in harsh living conditions?  It was for you!

(NASB) Hebrews 4:15 “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.”

Jesus has been tempted in every aspect by the devil with that which touches our hearts, our minds, and our very lives.  Yet, He did not sin.  We need Jesus, the Sinless One, to be our Savior.  He has won the victory over any temptation with which Satan tempts us today!
And all God’s people said…Amen!  Thank You, Lord Jesus!

Jesus secured the ground for us when He withstood the temptations of Satan in the wilderness.  And that battle was won by God’s word “It is written…”  And that battle was secured on the cross…by the resurrection of our Lord from the grave of death.
