Satan knows Scripture and uses it against God.  Since Jesus is God, He sees through the subtleties and misleading use of Scriptures, He knows how to refute the innuendos and misrepresentations which are lies.

(NIV) Luke 4:9-12 “The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. ‘If you are the Son of God, he said, ‘throw yourself down from here. 10For it is written:

‘He will command his angels concerning you

to guard you carefully;

11they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’

12Jesus answered, ‘It says: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

Satan led Jesus into a situation which would tempt Him to test God.  Jesus didn’t ‘fall’ for it.  And neither should we.  Satan does the same to the followers of Christ.  Mind games, entrapments, subtle and misleading arguments which misuse Scripture are all parts of Satan’s tools against God.  The devil will try to use these same twisted thinking subtleties in your life and mine, to use us as a pawn against God.  For manipulation of God’s word to misinform, mislead, and lead us to sin against God.

How can we withstand such an onslaught?  We can study God’s words and rely on the living God of the Holy Bible to defend us, to show us His truths from His word!

God’s words say…
(NASB) Isaiah 5:20-23 “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight!
22 Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine
And valiant men in mixing strong drink,
23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!”

Satan Knows Scripture

Subtle substitutions are important to note as God’s word is given out in a twisted form.

Woe to those who change God’s words!
