(NASB) Luke 2:51 “And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them…”

  What a Role Model!  Twelve year old Jesus, the Son of God, Creator and Sustainer of life went with His parents from the temple in Jerusalem back to Nazareth.  He submitted to their authority, their God-given authority.  He lived at home for 30 years (Jesus began His public ministry when He was 30).  (See Luke 3:23)
Are you yielding to the God-given authority of your parents if you are still living under their roof?

To give our parents respect is to obey the commandment of God…no matter the kind of parent they are or have been.  (See Exodus 20:12)
Jesus is our Role Model.

How you treat your parents, living or dead, reveals a lot about your relationship to your Father Who is in heaven.
