(NASB) Luke 2:10-11, 14 “…Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”

God’s messengers had given the shepherds, on the night shift, a singing telegram.  And those shepherds believed what they heard as coming from God, Himself.

What news do you believe when you read a newspaper or as you surf the web?  Much of what can be read is suspect for validity and truth.  People have agendas, much of the time, political agendas.  Facts of events are distorted, slanted in favor of one agenda or another.  The truthfulness of news given out over the air waves via the internet, the T.V., twitter, etc. is doubtful.

Where can anyone go to read facts, truth and believe what is read?
Only one source is accurate, only one source is filled with truth from beginning to end…the Holy Bible.

Dr. Luke was one of the writers.  He stated that he carefully investigated eye-witnesses and the events which surrounded the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.  (See Luke 1:1-3)
The LORD God of the Bible had men write the Bible over a period of 1500 years.  These 40 writers were from all walks of life.  God was back of it all; His words are true and are verified throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation.  (See Titus 1:1-2)

To compare what is said today with the Holy Bible will be an eye-opener.  Because the Bible is true – all other writings can be measured and compared by what the Bible states.  After all, it is God’s word and He does not lie.

Writers have agendas and so does God.  We are to believe in the Son of God and receive Him as our Savior.  What an agenda…it is for our best interest for eternity.  When we become followers of Christ ~ Good News! ~ and we do live in a world made up of half-truths and deceptions.
We need God and His truths in our lives, in our thinking, in our motives and aims…as individuals and as a nation.

Reading the Bible is reading God’s Good News!  Believe His words are true, for they are.  His message is for you, personally for you.  His agenda is for you and your best.

The next time you open your Bible…will you read it as coming from God to you?

The shepherds believed God’s message…what about you?
