Shepherds guarding their flocks ~ in the middle of the night ~ suddenly are surrounded by light ~ enveloped in light ~ the light of God’s glory.  (See Luke 2:13)

  The heavenly host, a multitude, sang their message.  What a message it was.  It was delivered in such a wondrous way.
(NASB) Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”

The followers of Christ also have been given a message.  Indeed, anyone who reads, receives and responds to God and His message will become a follower of Christ!

Watching a follower of Christ may be the only way others “read” God’s message…are you giving out God’s truth by the way you act and what you say and the way you live?

What message have we been given?
(NASB) 1 John 1:5-7 “This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

What warning is in this message for us?
(NASB) 1 John 1:8-10 “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”
