On August 29, 2011 this devotional began to consider the “Beginnings” of creation, time, plant, animal and human life.

The beginning of sin and the promise of a Savior (See Genesis 3:15) was considered.

The first clothing was provided by God for Adam and Eve after their sin against Him.

The Bible tells of the first marriage which God instituted between a man and a woman and their family.

The Bible does not leave out the ugliness of sin as seen in the first dysfunctional family and the resulting murder of brother killing brother.

The decision the LORD God made concerning “beginning” was to re-populate the earth again through Noah and his three sons.  This devotional focused on the promise of God to never judge the people, the earth and animal life again through a universal flood.

We have been thinking of the beginning of the Hebrew nation with the call of Abram to go forth from Ur of the Chaldees to Canaan…by faith in God to lead him there.

Genesis is the Book of Beginnings…and we have considered Genesis 1:1-12:3 for the past eight months.

Where did you have your beginning with the living God of the Bible?  When have you become a follower of Christ by faith in His going to the cross in your place?
As you live in this day…what is the LORD calling you to do to grow in your faith in Him?
Who comes to your mind to share the good news that Jesus Christ has died for them and will give them life for eternity by believing in His name?

In the coming devotionals we will be turning to a doctor.  Doctor Luke carefully interviewed real people who knew the living Lord Jesus Christ.  Dr. Luke was a physician and logically gave sound evidence to the reality of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.

Reading and studying God’s word should result in growing in faith in the living God.  Do you know that the Holy Bible is His truth?  Have you come to the conclusion that God does not lie?  (See Numbers 23:19)

Faith in God and His word…My prayers for you are that you are growing and deepening your relationship with the Creator God Who has created you.

(NASB) Psalm 139:13-14 “For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.”

Beginnings…the Wonderful Works of God for you!
