Yesterday, all of Christendom celebrated Easter…we celebrated the Risen Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is a descendant of Shem, Terah and Abraham.  The lineage of Jesus from Abraham forward is found in Matthew 1:1-17.  The lineage of Christ Jesus can be traced back to God in the genealogical records of Luke 3:23-38.

The risen Savior has an extensive and impressive lineage…
He has the “blood lines”, He has the right of succession to the throne of David (Revelation 22:16).
He has all authority – God-given authority – in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18).
He is going to come again as the King over all kings and LORD over all lords…and no one will be able to overpower Him or have victory over Him.

What has just been celebrated is what Jesus did on the cross and through His resurrection from the dead:
He has paid for our sins – how can anyone refuse such a great gift?      1 Corinthians 15:3
He has defeated Satan – who will ultimately spend eternity in the lake of fire.  Revelation 20:10.
He has defeated death – He has been raised from the grave.                   1 Peter 1:3

Followers of Christ…we serve a risen Savior…we love the One Who has become our sacrifice because of our sins.  Hallelujah!  What a Savior…His lineage is authentic.
