Jesus yielded Himself – totally yielded Himself – to God’s plan of salvation.  God’s plan was to cover the sins of all who receive Him as Savior and Lord.  And that plan included the cross.

Because Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to death on the cross God has exalted Him:
(NASB) Philippians 2:9-11 “For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Followers of Christ have been crucified with Christ [in Christ we have shared in His crucifixion – See (Amplified) Galatians 2:20]…He has taken our sins on Himself…on the cross…He became sin so you can be freed from sin.  (We are still sinners; however, we are saved by the grace of God for all eternity.)

(NIV) Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;  and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

Followers of Christ!  Rejoice!  We have a risen Savior!
