In the days of Noah the earth was filled with corruption and violence.

Today, in 2012, there is corruption of morals, corruption of belief in the living God, corruption in governments and you could probably add to this list.  There is violence throughout the nations today – riots, civil unrest, demanding greed of every kind – greed for power, greed for money, greed of wants to be satisfied without working.  Again you can probably add to this list.

In Noah’s day the earth was corrupt in the eyes of God and was filled with violence. (See Genesis 6:11)
There are many similarities in 2012 to Noah’s day.

Today, in 2012, the followers of Christ are saved through faith in Jesus’ power to redeem us from our sins.  We are ‘shut’ in and are protected by faith in Jesus’ work on the cross (the work of taking our sins on Himself as if they were His sins and suffering the punishment which should have been ours).

In Noah’s day, the LORD God “shut him in” the ark.  There was one door, Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives were in the ark, the animals and birds had come to the ark.

Noah had found favor with God – he was a righteous man and he lived by his faith that what God said was true and would happen.  He and his family were saved from the floodwaters of God’s judgment.
Today, followers of Christ are “shut” in by faith in the Son of God as our Savior.

The LORD God judged the “intent of the thoughts” of people’s hearts because they were continually filled with evil; corruption and violence was on the earth in those days of Noah (See Genesis 6:5-6).

There is a day coming when God will again judge the “intent of the thoughts” of people’s hearts.

Noah’s Day and 2012, Any Similarities?

Can you honestly say that you have found favor with God

through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ?

(NASB) Genesis 6:9 “…Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.”     Do you?
