(NASB) Ephesians 4:30 “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

Out of gratefulness to God I am not to grieve God the Holy Spirit.  Why?
Because He has saved me from my sins through God the Son.
He has adopted me as a child of God the Father.
He has sealed me by God the Holy Spirit.

The work of the Holy Spirit of the living God of the Bible is to keep me safe.  I have received Jesus Christ as my Savior, freed from my sins through faith by His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead.

Out of my gratefulness: I do not want to grieve the Holy Spirit of God.  I am His child, forever…nothing can take me out of His hand of protection.  I am not a grandchild or an acquaintance…I am God’s child.

My gratefulness to God increases my love for Him.
My love for Him causes me to not to want to cause Him grief.
