Jesus was present when Satan fell from heaven.
(NASB) Luke 10:18 “And He said to them (His disciples), ‘I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.’ ”
It was not a slow descent.  It was like a bolt of lightning which goes from cloud to ground – an instantaneous flash of light ripping through the atmosphere in seconds.  And Jesus saw it happen.

Satan has fallen from heaven, the one known as “the star of the morning” and also as “son of the dawn” but he was cut down to earth.  (See Isaiah 14:12)  Why?  Because he said in his heart:
(NASB) Isaiah 14:13-15 “But you said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
And I will sit on the mount of assembly
In the recesses of the north.
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’ ”

Pride, arrogance, conceit, envy, jealousy, and the desire to be above God – cost him.  It cost him from living in God’s presence.  It cost him to spend eternity in Sheol, in the recesses of the pit. (See Isaiah 14:15)

Satan wants to be worshiped by everyone.  Even Jesus was given that temptation from Satan: (NASB) Matthew 4:8-10 “Again, the devil took Him (Jesus) to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
9 and he said to Him, ‘All these things I will give You, if you fall down and worship me.’
10 Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go, Satan!  For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’ ”

Where do you and I need to keep our focus when we are tempted?  Our focus is to be on God the Father, and on God the Son.  To whom do you and I need to listen?
(NASB) Deuteronomy 6:4-5 “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
5 ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

The LORD God is speaking,

Are you listening?
