Adam and Eve have disobeyed God, recognized their nakedness and have sewn fig leaves together to hide their nakedness.  Then they hear the LORD God walking in the garden and they hide among the many trees.
I believe that this was one of the LORD’S favorite times – to walk in the garden in the coolness of the day and to talk with Adam and Eve.

(NASB) Genesis 3:9 “Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, ‘Where are you?’ ”

What do you do when you have done some action against another?  Do you usually work to avoid meeting that person in the hallway or restaurant?  And if you do meet them, do you avoid eye contact and/or talking with them?  Perhaps you are doing the same thing with God.
Like Adam and Eve hiding from God, are you hiding from Him?

What part of your life are you hiding from God?  How will you respond to His call ‘Where are you’ (your name)?

(NASB) Joel 2:12-13 “ ‘Yet even now,’ declares the LORD,
‘Return to Me with all your heart,
And with fasting, weeping and mourning;
13 And rend your heart and not your garments.’
Now return to the LORD your God,
For He is gracious and compassionate,
Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness
And relenting of evil.”

The LORD’S question to Adam reveals His love for His people.  This question, ‘Where are you?’ was first uttered after the first sin in the Garden of Eden.  This quest of God is on-going…He called out to His people in Israel during the days of Joel and He is still calling out.

God is calling, are you listening to His continuing question?

When will you respond and turn to Him?

‘Where are you’ (your name)?
