The LORD God gave the first anesthetic and performed the first surgery.
(NASB) Genesis 2:21 “So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.”

It was the LORD God Who made man and woman.
(NASB) Genesis 2:22 “The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.”

Waiting on the LORD for His choice of spouse for you is important.  Perhaps you are married…then God’s word says to stay in the marriage…for He hates divorce.  When a man and a woman marry they become one flesh and one spirit.  God is seeking that His people, the followers of Christ, have godly children.  To have godly children they need to be raised in a godly home…therefore, both the wife and husband are to believe in the living God.  (See Malachi 2:15-16a)

It was the LORD God Who instituted marriage.
(NASB) Genesis 2:23-24 “The man said,
‘This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.’
24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.”

It was the LORD God then, and it is the LORD God now…His word has not changed.  Followers of Christ…we are to stay faithful to God and to our spouse…to honor God is to honor our wedding vows.
