The Breath of Life
(NASB) Genesis 2:7 “Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
God made a man (Adam) to have life, life which God breathed into him. The LORD God made every part of a man – brain, heart, muscles, internal organs, skin, mind, emotions, will, etc. All these parts are integrated to work together and at the same time have separate functions. The human body is amazing. God designed, formatted, and formed the human body and put into it His breath of life.
(NASB) Psalm 139:13-18 “For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.”
As you move through this day, God is available to you. He knows you from the inside out (and wonder of wonders, He still loves you!). Every person needs the living God as their Savior and LORD. Do you?
Every person (you and I are included) has need of His breath of life for the living of our days.
Consider Genesis 2:7 and Psalm 139:13-18 again.
God’s breath of life was given to Adam.
God’s breath of life through Jesus Christ gives eternal life.
Have you received His breath of life?
