In Genesis 1:1-2:3 the act of God creating and making the heavens and the earth was done in an orderly manner over a period of six days.

Now the ‘camera’ will zoom in and focus on one aspect of God’s creation – people.
The scene is described:
(NASB) Genesis 2:4-6 “This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made earth and heaven.
5 Now no shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no plant of the field had yet sprouted, for the Lord God had not sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.
6 But a mist used to rise from the earth and water the whole surface of the ground.”

How beautiful it must have been in the earliest morning hours as the early sunlight illuminated the mist.  Sounds must have been muted; the sound of bird’s songs of praise filled the air, the chattering of squirrels as they awoke for the day, the whinny of a horse, the lowing of cattle, the voices of all the animals awakening for the day.

Today, is not idyllic as those first days of creation…today there is chaos.  On what are you focusing as the world is in turmoil from storms of nature, financial and political storms, rioting and pointing of fingers?
The followers of Christ have the LORD their God in which to trust in the middle of chaos.  We have a hope and a future in eternity.  Those without Christ Jesus have only themselves in which to trust and that is shaky ground indeed.

(NASB) 1 Corinthians 2:9 “but just as it is written,
‘THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,’
AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.’ ”

God has provided all that is needed to have a relationship with Him – there are only two choices: rejection of God or acceptance of God’s way of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

What have you chosen?
If you have chosen the Lord Jesus, what will you choose to focus on today?
The chaos and the crisis?  Or the Christ?
