Jesus Christ Entered History
How did Jesus Christ, the Son of God, enter history?
He was born of a virgin (as Isaiah prophesied – Isaiah 7:14).
Fulfilled: Matthew 1:18-23
He was born in Bethlehem (as Micah prophesied – Micah 5:2a).
Fulfilled: Luke 2:1-7
He would have His origins before He came into the world as a baby born of a virgin (as Micah prophesied – Micah 5:2b).
Fulfilled: Matthew 1:23
Jesus’ name “Emmanuel” means “God with us”.
Jesus did not climb over a wall or through a window to gain entrance into the world. He entered through the door of prophecy in history.
Jesus said:
(NASB) John 10:1-2 “TRULY, TRULY, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.
2 ‘But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep.”
The door by which Jesus entered had a guard, a doorkeeper. And the doorkeeper opened wide the door to Jesus, the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16)
(NASB) John 10:3a “To him the doorkeeper opens…”
Jesus entered history the first time as Savior, to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21)
Jesus will enter history the second time as King of kings. (Revelation 19:11-16)
Has Jesus entered into your history (life) as your Savior and Lord?
(NASB) Romans 10:9-11 “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
11 For the Scriptures say, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”
