This parable of the Little City is a continuation from yesterday’s devotional.

(NASB) Ecclesiastes 9:15-16 “But there was found in it a poor wise man and he delivered the city by his wisdom.  Yet no one remembered that poor man.
16 So I said, ‘Wisdom is better than strength.’  But the wisdom of the poor man is despised and his words are not heeded.”

First consider the “poor wise man”.  He was born in a stable into a poor family.  When He was grown He was despised and there were those who did not listen to His words of wisdom.  Even as He was dying on the cross outside of Jerusalem, He was rejected.
The parable is referring to the Lord Jesus Christ.  It is through Him that I am delivered from the deceptions, lies, power and stranglehold of Satan.

(NASB) Ecclesiastes 9:17 “The words of the wise heard in quietness are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools.”

As you watch today’s news you can see and hear the arrogant shouting of rulers’ throughout the world.
To whom do you listen?

The Deliverer, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the wise Man.

Are you listening?
