Who is the power and strength behind the fruit of the Spirit?  God Himself!  The followers of Christ have the Holy Spirit.  When you have that personal relationship with the personal God – you have God-given power and strength to exhibit the fruit of the Spirit.

(NASB) Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.”

How might the fruit “patience” be applied?

(NASB) 2 Timothy 4:1-4 “I SOLEMNLY charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom;
2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,
4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.”
(Bold added)

“…with great patience and instruction…”  Those who tell others God’s truth and are pooh-poohed because it does not tickle their ears will have to exhibit great patience.  But God has given His children the fruit of the Holy Spirit…patience being one part of that fruit.

For those of you who may be discouraged because people are not listening to God’s truth – continue   “…with great patience and instruction…”
You have been given God’s Holy Spirit…He is greater in you than those who are in the world.

(NASB) 1 John 4:4-6 “You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
5 They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them.
6 We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us.  By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”

Don’t give up – continue “…with great patience…”
