What has the crucifixion of Christ done for you?  One of those things which Christ has done for you: to satisfy the penalty of the Law (which everyone breaks in some way).

The Law (the Ten Commandments) cannot be kept – impossible!  If one law is broken…then we are guilty before God.

The Law proves that you and I need a Savior.  We need someone who keeps or has kept all the Law.  There is just one Person who has lived who was without sin, the Lord Jesus Christ.

(NASB) Matthew 5:17-19 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.
18 ‘For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
19 ‘Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

It is Christ Who has saved me (has He you?) from the penalty of my sin.  Christ took my penalty on Himself, as if the sin were His own.

For the followers of Christ this is a sobering fact.  What sin(s) do you now need to confess and be forgiven – through the power of Christ’s forgiveness?

For the followers of Christ how do you respond to such a great salvation?

Are you responding with gratitude and a thankful heart?
