The disciples were excitedly gathered together toward the end of the first day of the week.  Some women had been the first to know and report that Jesus had risen from the dead…although they were not believed.  Then two people walking to Emmaus had seen and talked with Jesus Himself.

When you have good news to share, don’t you tell others, especially the ones who will be impacted the most?  What good news about the Lord Jesus have you shared with others recently?

As the group was together in Jerusalem, Jesus suddenly stood among them saying, “Peace be to you.”  Although they knew He was alive, they were still startled, terrified, they were truly frightened.

Then Jesus said:  (NASB) Luke 24:38-43 “…‘Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39 ‘See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.’

40 And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

41 While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, ‘Have you anything here to eat?’

42 They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;

43 and He took it and ate it before them.”

Faith in Jesus is to believe that He really did die and come to physical life again.  He proved this over a period of 40 days (See Acts 1:3) after His resurrection…to many people and in many different circumstances.  (See 1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

What has Christ Jesus done for you, why is He worthy of worship?

(NIV) 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 “…that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures”

Everything that happened to Jesus was according to the Scriptures.

Jesus gave convincing proofs of His bodily resurrection

and again it was according to the Scriptures.

Christianity is different from all other religions…for it alone has a living God Whom we worship and follow.
