Prophecy
(NASB) Psalm 22:1 “My GOD, my God, why have You forsaken me?…”

Prophecy Fulfilled
(NASB) Matthew 27:45-46 “Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.
46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ‘ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?’ that is, MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?’”

Darkness fell at 12 noon until three o’clock.  Jesus: forsaken, desolate, feeling the full effects of my sins and yours on Himself.  Sins which God the Father could not look upon and therefore could not look on His Son, His only Son.
The darkness of sins and the desolation of separation from His Father caused Jesus to cry out to His God.

People who have not received Jesus as their Savior have their own sins on themselves.  They will suffer God’s wrath for their sins.

However, if people have agreed with God and His word that they are in need of Jesus as their Savior, then He has already suffered God’s wrath for their sins.  He has already been through the spiritual, emotional anguish of separation from His Father for all who believe in Him.

Jesus was forsaken by His Father because of your sins and mine.

Don’t reject this gift.

The Good News is that God the Father accepted Jesus’ blood sacrifice on the altar of the cross.  Proof: Jesus was resurrected from the grave of death.
