Jesus was God’s chosen Servant…the Anointed One, Messiah.

During Jesus’ ministry He healed the sick and was plotted against by the religious leaders because He had healed on the Sabbath.  (See Matthew 12:9-14)  Jesus said that “it was lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

Jesus was aware of the animosity against Himself so He withdrew from the place where the plot was being laid.  Many followed Him and He healed their sick.  Those He healed He warned not to tell who He was.  (See Matthew 12:15-16)
It was at this point that He was fulfilling some of the following prophecy (some of that prophecy is yet to be fulfilled by God’s chosen Servant).

(NASB) Isaiah 42:1-4 “BEHOLD, MY servant, whom I uphold;
My chosen one in whom My soul delights.
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the nations.
2He will not cry out or raise His voice,
Nor make His voice heard in the street.
3A bruised reed He will not break
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish;
He will faithfully bring forth justice.”
(Compare Matthew 12:18-21)

No matter the plots, the condemnations, the accusations…Jesus came to do His Father’s will.  God’s chosen Servant was faithful by His obedience.
(NASB) Hebrews 5:8-9 “Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.
9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.”
(NASB) Isaiah 53:9b “Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.”

God’s chosen Servant endured suffering.  He has been where you are if you are also suffering.

God’s chosen Servant has identified Himself with you.

God’s chosen Servant – “He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.”

God’s chosen Servant, He is the only source of eternal salvation.
