(NASB) Isaiah 53:7 “He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.”

What is striking about the scenes of Jesus’ arrest, trials, scourging, and crucifixion? (See Tuesday, March 15, 2011 devotional)

For the most part Jesus was silent.  When He did speak it was to acknowledge Who He is…never in defiance or defeat or demanding His rights.

He took my sins and He took your sins on Himself – for this reason He was guilty before God.

He took the sins of the men who arrested Him, taunted Him, crucified Him…on Himself – He was therefore guilty before God.

Sins (those things you and I think, say and do) are against God.  Our sins became Jesus’ sins on that cross.  The sinless Son of God did that for you and me.  He became the perfect sacrifice which God could accept.

Behold!  The Lamb of God who takes away our sins!

Is He your sin replacement?

Is He your Savior?

If not, who or what will save you from God’s judgment for your sins?

(NASB) John 1:29 “…Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

If you say that Jesus has become the Lamb of God Who has taken away your sin, do you praise Him and thank Him for such a great salvation?
