(NASB) Matthew 16:21 “From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and the chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.”

Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem where He would be crucified and raised from death.  His steps took Him ever closer to why He was born in Bethlehem.

As the world escalates into hate-filled violence, no country is safe from its effects.  Strife, wars and rumors of war, starvation, atrocities against men, women and children fill the internet news and newspapers.

This is why Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem.
This is why Jesus came to save all, all who will turn to Him, to know Him as Savior and LORD.
People cannot save themselves…we have tried for centuries and it has never worked.  People have turned to leaders to save them, and that too has never worked.

Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem…to go to the cross and die.
Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem…to be buried in a tomb and on the third day He would rise from that grave of death…
Physically He rose from that tomb as a promise that one day we too will rise from death to live eternally.

Messiah has come the first time to free us from death, sin and Satan.  Messiah will come the second time to judge our actions and our choices.

The question becomes where will you spend eternity?  Will it be in the presence of God in heaven…or…without the presence of God in hell?

Jesus set His face toward Jerusalem for you…
