Simon Peter declared Jesus to be the Son of the living God:

(NIV) Matthew 16:21 “From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples…”

For Jesus’ followers to hear hard things that would literally happen, they needed to understand Who He was.

The starting point is belief in Jesus and Who He really is…not who I think He is or who I want Him to be…

The disciples did not understand the hard truths Jesus would tell them in His next words.

In 2011 we can know that what Jesus told those men, happened just as He said it would.  (This devotional will explore His prophecy in the coming days and weeks.)

Knowing that Jesus is the Son of the living God cannot be over-emphasized.  That is the starting point in which belief develops in Him.

Where do we start?

(NIV) Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth.”

(Amplified) Psalm 46:10 “Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations!  I will be exalted in the earth!”

There is no one greater than the living God…He alone will be exalted.  He is to be our starting point…our foundation, our cornerstone.

The starting point is in the eternal God…
