“…love is kind…”
Love is patient…Love is kind…
Have you noticed that these words do not have ‘if’ attached to them.
Love is patient…if others are patient with me.
Love is kind…if others are kind towards me.
As a follower of Christ – there are no conditions, no ‘ifs’, ‘ands’, or ‘buts’.
Love is patient.
Love is kind.
“is” … an interesting word … a present tense word … an active word…a state of being word.
God’s love is patient…with you. God’s love is kind…towards you.
(NASB) 1 Corinthians 12:31 “But earnestly desire the greater gifts.
And I show you a still more excellent way.”
1 Corinthians 13 is a chapter which defines the excellence of love.
(NASB) 1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient, love is kind…”
What do you want from others? Acceptance, respect, love, patience, kindness…
The following is a personal evaluation:
Am I kind, even when others are overbearing and rude?
How do I react to others…do I have a quick retort?
What do my actions reveal about my motives, my ‘hidden’ thoughts?
Do you deal with others as you want Christ to deal with you?
Love is patient…love is kind…even in situations where there are pressures and stress ‘in the moment’.
Only through Jesus as our Savior can we love others as He loves us…with patience and kindness in the moments of our days.
