(NASB) 1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient…”
God is patient…with you and me.  He has chosen to be patiently loving and lovingly patient with us.
Have you ever sat in a park, or in a ‘private place’ meditating on God and His love?  Have you ever thought about His patience with you?
How easy it is to think about those attributes of God when there is no one around.  Love…Patience…beautiful words which we probably desire from God toward us.
But, do we exhibit those same attributes toward others under stress-filled circumstances?
Unlovely thoughts are translated into words and actions.  Impatience has words leaping out of our mouths and relationships are hurt or even severed.
For God’s words to be ‘real’ in my life, what do I need to do?  How am I to follow the Lord Jesus Christ when I am unloving and impatient?

(NASB) 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”

The next step, after prayer, may be to go to the person toward whom you were unloving and/or impatient.  Telling another that you are sorry and asking them for forgiveness will require putting them, and your relationship with them, ahead of your own emotions and feelings.  (And once you have apologized…you have done your part.  It will be the other person’s choice to forgive…or not.)

Love is a choice.
Patience is a choice.

Sometimes, being patient and loving means waiting on God to work in you and another.
God’s love has been and is patient with you…His love and patience are infinite.
Have you meditated on God’s love and patience for you?
How are you responding to the Lord God’s love and patience drawing you to Him?
