Yesterday’s devotional talked about the spiritual reality of God the Holy Spirit given to all believers in Christ Jesus.

(NIV) Galatians 5:25 “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

As followers of Christ we have a responsibility to keep in step with the Spirit of God.
A drill team, a marching band, troops on review…all are to keep in step.
The United States Marine Corp has a drill team which is precision personified.  An amazing performance of perfection.
The opening ceremonies of the Olympics in China – an incredible display of precision.
Do any of these performances ‘just happen’?  Someone has to decide on the choreography and the cadence, the timing.
Then practice, practice, practice…and more practice.

Keeping in step with the Spirit of God demands our full attention on Him – He is the choreographer; He is the One Who establishes His timing, His cadence in our lives.  Our part is to put into practice His instructions…He is the Counselor.  The Holy Spirit is known as the Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6).

To keep in step with the Spirit of God, we must listen with our minds, our hearts and then obey His words (they will always be found in the Bible).  If we are counseled by others in any way and that counsel does not line up with the word of God…it is not from God.
