As this devotional considers being filled with the Holy Spirit of God (who has been given to all believers) Romans continues to teach about our responsibilities:

(NASB) Romans 12:6-8 “Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;
7 if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in his teaching;
8 or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”

  Quite a list to think about…which area or gift do you have that you need to carefully consider?  Are you using it according to what God has called you to do?

          Prophecy – are you speaking God’s words, speaking His truths?

          Serving – are you serving God and others?

          Teaching – are you teaching God’s word, all of God’s word?

          Exhorting – are you carefully using God’s word and what He says

          Leading – your leadership is a gift, are you leading others diligently?

          Mercy – are you showing mercy with cheerfulness, not gritting your teeth to get the job done?

  Your gift is different from mine…there are other gifts not mentioned in this list…one Scripture is 1 Corinthians 12.

Whatever your gift is…

are you using it according to the proportion of your faith?

Whatever your gift from God is…you are to use it for His glory.
