Sacrificial living includes getting rid of godless habits of thought and any wrong views you have of yourself.
(NASB) Romans 12:3 “For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.”

NOTE: Grace: unmerited favor of God
With that note in mind…consider the verse again…
For through “the unmerited favor of God” given to me (Paul, who wrote this letter) I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think – “not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance”.
The Amplified Bible gives definitions which I have used in the above paraphrase.

Arrogance and pride, a holier-than-thou attitude, is not a sign of godly living or the living water of the Holy Spirit welling up into eternal life.

Sound judgment immersed by faith in God

is to choose to be living sacrificially.

So, one question that could be asked: How am I living today?  How would I rate myself according to Romans 12:3?  Am I living by faith in myself OR by faith in God?
