(NASB) Luke 24:13-17 “And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was about seven miles (about 11 km) from Jerusalem.
14 And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place.”
15 While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself approached and began traveling with them.
16 But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him.
17 And He said to them, “What are these words that you are exchanging with one another as you are walking?” And they stood still, looking sad.”

  Grief and sorrow permeated these two people as Jesus joined them on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus.
  What gives you true grief and sorrow? When we are in the depths of despair and sadness permeates our emotions, many times we do not turn to the One Who can alleviate our suffering”…but it is at these moments that Jesus is available to us, where we are.

(NASB) Romans 8:26 “In the same way the Spirit helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”

For the followers of Christ,

we have the Counselor, the Comforter, God Himself.
