Jesus was crucified at 9 am, and from 12 pm ““ 3 pm darkness covered the land. Then about 3 pm Jesus cried out:

(NASB) Matthew 27:46 “About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “˜ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?”™ that is,’MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?'”

Forsaken, abandoned by God ““ Jesus was utterly alone on that altar! Why? Why did He cry out with a loud voice? His was a soul wrenching cry of agony that you and I will never have to endure if we know Him and accept Him as our Savior.

Look at Jesus on that cross with your mind”™s eye; consider Him Who took your sins on Himself:

(NIV) John 1:29 “”˜Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”™”

Lord Jesus, You are the Lamb of God Who went willingly to the altar of sacrifice for my sins. You suffered agonies which I will never have to endure and You did it for me! Thank you Lord Jesus. Thank you for that friend who told me of my need for You! Thank you for being my Savior.

Forgive me, Lord Jesus, for taking Your sacrifice too lightly and without too much thought.
