(NASB) Luke 23:33 “When they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.”

Jesus”™ hands and feet were pierced with a spike and this was in fulfillment of Scripture concerning Messiah.

(NASB) Psalm 22:16b “They pierced my hands and my feet.”

What a graphic and specific prophecy concerning crucifixion and this method was not even known by David”¦yet God foretold of His Son”™s death, how He would die at the hands of Gentiles and Jews hundreds of years in the future.

Why? Why did Jesus die on the cross? Again, God foretold the reason through the prophet Isaiah:

(NASB) Isaiah 53:5 “But He was pierced through for our transgressions,

He was crushed for our iniquities;

The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,

And by His scourging we are healed.”

Anyone who accepts/receives Jesus as their Savior is healed. We are healed because Jesus was pierced for our transgressions and our iniquities. The chastening He endured was for our well-being”¦when Jesus was flogged, and by that flogging we are healed. We need Jesus! It was Jesus, alone, Who bore our sins, and there is none other!
