Jesus identified Himself with people even in His death. Jesus substituted Himself as the required sacrifice for the sins of criminals. (That is you and me ““ we are sinners and are justly accused of doing wrong in the sight of the living God.)

Jesus was crucified between two convicted criminals. He became a convicted criminal in my place and yours on the cross. Why? Because He took my sins, and yours, on Himself as if they were His own.

We need a Savior. And He is the Lord Jesus Christ; the Lamb of God (See John 1:29) Who came to take away the sin of the world. (See John 3:16-17)

(NASB) 1 Peter 2:21-24 “For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps,

22 WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HISMOUTH;

23 and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering. He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;

24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”

Jesus has identified Himself with you and substituted Himself in your place so that you might choose to die to your sin and live to being in right relationship with the LORD God Almighty through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

There is only one question which you can answer: Have you received the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior into your heart and life? If so, how is your life revealing changed thinking and motives?
