Jesus was the Lamb of God Who came to take away the sin of the world. (John 1:29) Jesus was the perfect sacrifice which God in His holiness demands for sin. This is why we need Jesus!

(NASB) 1 Peter 2:24 “and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”

The Blessed sacrifice prepared for your sins was enacted in the early morning hours after daybreak on Good Friday.

(NASB) Luke 22:66-71 “When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,

67 “˜If You are the Christ, tell us.”™ But He said to them, “˜If I tell you, you will not believe;

68 and if I ask a question, you will not answer.

69 “˜But from now on THE SON OF MAN WILL BE SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND of the power of God.”™

70 And they all said, “˜Are You the Son of God, then?”™

And He said to them, “˜Yes, I am.”™

71 Then they said, “˜What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.”™”

As you observe this Good Friday”¦

(NIV) John 1:29 “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

(Amplified) 1 Peter 2:24 “He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.”
