Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, Messiah (Christ). For this the high priest sinned against God when he tore his robes.

(NIV) Leviticus 21:10 “The high priest, the one among his brothers who has had the anointing oil poured on his head and who has been ordained to wear the priestly garments, must not let his hair become unkempt or tear his clothes.”

(NIV) Mark 14:63-64 “The high priest tore his clothes. “˜Why do we need any more witnesses?”™ he asked. 64“˜You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?”™

They all condemned him as worthy of death.”

Jesus was not a victim of the unlawful trial. He was not a victim of the physical abuse heaped upon Him as He stood, His hands tied, before His accusers.

(NASB) Mark 14:65 “Some began to spit at Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, and to say to Him, “˜Prophesy!”™ And the officers received Him with slaps in the face.“

Jesus had told His disciples that this would happen before they had come to Jerusalem for Passover.

(NASB) Matthew 20:18 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death”

Jesus gave His disciples hope in the fact of His resurrection”¦although at the time they did not understand and would not understand until after He was resurrected from the dead.

(NASB) Matthew 20:19 “and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.”

No matter your circumstances on this day before Good Friday”¦after you have received Jesus Who saves you from your sins”¦nothing can come between you and the love of God for you:

(NASB) Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We have The Blessed Hope of Christ”™s Love!
