Jesus faced persecution, pain and death but that wasn”™t His biggest sorrow. His sorrow was deeper than what He knew He would be experiencing. His sorrow was the coming separation from His Father, His sorrow was the coming sin He would be experiencing.

Jesus did all of this out of His love for you!

Jesus had spent time in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane”¦while His disciples slept. What is a lesson which we can learn from this? When faced with what God calls us to do”¦it must be done in prayer ““ privately.

Where do we begin to come into line with God”™s will for us? Jesus began with prayer, privately, on His face before God His Father. Isn”™t this place of private prayer where we need to come into submission and acceptance of God”™s will for us?

Jesus was in full acceptance of, and obedience to, God”™s will for Him.

(NASB) Philippians 2:8 “Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”

After Jesus prayed and accepted God”™s will, the transition time from prayer to being betrayed was short, very short.

(NASB) Matthew 26:45-47 “Then He came to the disciples and said to them, “˜Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46 “˜Get up, let us be going; behold, the one who betrays Me is at hand!”™

47 While He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came up accompanied by a large crowd with swords and clubs, who came from the chief priests and elders of the people.”

How could Jesus stand and meet His betrayer who came with an armed crowd? Jesus”™ faith was in His Father”™s will, purpose and plan for His life.

Followers of Christ, prepared through prayer, can also stand and meet the challenges and opportunities of being in God”™s will, purpose and plan for our lives.
