Fall on your face and pray”¦
What had Jesus never before experienced?
He had never experienced separation from God the Father!
He had never experienced sin!
How appalling that must have been for Him. How did Jesus handle this coming difficult and excruciating experience? Matthew tells us:
(NASB) Matthew 26:39 “And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed”¦”
Whatever you are facing in your life today”¦you also can meet your difficult and excruciating circumstances as Jesus did. What do you need to do? Go alone into the presence of God and kneel, perhaps even lie face down on the floor and pray”¦
Many times the physical attitude
reveals the heart attitude before the living God.
Jesus was completely submissive and dependent on God, His Father. He went to the only Source Who could help Him in the coming trials and crucifixion.
Jesus understands your feelings, your emotions, your fears, and your need”¦your desperate need.
You may want to use Jesus”™ own words as you submit to God”™s will in your life.
(See Matthew 26:39, 42, 44) This devotional will address that tomorrow.
Calling on God for your needs is never wasted!
