(NASB) John 17:20-21 “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;

21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us”¦”™”

Jesus desires unity of believers as God the Father and God the Son have unity. They are of the same mind with the same motives.

There are many denominations in Christendom”¦separated by how they interpret the Bible. One commonality that true Christians experience: belief in the Lord Jesus Christ.

(NIV) Romans 10:8-13 “”˜The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”™ that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9That if you confess with your mouth, “˜Jesus is Lord,”™ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11As the Scripture says, “˜Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”™ 12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile ““ the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, “˜Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”™”

The dictionary states that unity is the fact or condition of being one. Believers in Christ have the uniting fact of faith in Christ Jesus: what He has done on the cross for us and what He has done when He came forth from the grave”¦alive, with a physical body.

(NIV) Ephesians 4:3-6 “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit ““ just as you were called to one hope when you were called ““ 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

(Amplified) Ephesians 4:3 “Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace.”
