To what or to who are you committed? If your commitment is to yourself and your grand agenda ““ at some point in time it will come to nothing. For whatever your agenda is, it will not be committed to you.

If your commitment is to any false gods ““ again, those false gods are not committed to you.

If your commitment is to the living God of the Bible, He promises that His commitment is to you!

Shouldn”™t you and I be sure that what we are committed to has a commitment to us? “˜Listen”™ to what Jesus told His disciples as they made their way to the Garden of Gethsemane:

(NASB) John 15:4 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.”

To abide, to remain in Christ, is to know that He promises to abide, to remain in those who follow Him as their Savior and Lord.

What a wonderful promise from the promise-keeping God! We are to live, to abide, to remain in our commitment to the Lord Jesus and He promises that He will live, abide, remain in His followers.

Jesus has made a commitment to those who love Him!

With the living God, commitment is a two-way street.

Are you walking on that street?
