What is in a Name?
People”™s names are important; they help to define the person. God declared His name as (NASB) Exodus 3:14 “I AM WHO I AM.”
How does this name of the living God impact our lives?
Think about the “˜I AM”™. It is awesome to know that God is the ever-present, living God Who IS!
As a follower of Christ, I have God as my Savior; He is my security in a world that is not secure, a world which is a changing complexity of cultures and ideologies. My hope is in the unchanging God of the Bible, the “I Am”.
Question: Is your trust in people, who are fallible? Or is your trust in yourself, who is also fallible? Or is your trust in God Who has said that His name is “˜I AM WHO I AM”™, who is infallible?
Since God said that He was the “I AM WHO I AM”, then Jesus, the Son of God can also say of Himself, “˜I AM”™. God”™s very name denotes His ever present, living character and Person. And wonder of wonders, He has made Himself available for you and me to be His children.
Jesus”™ name is important, for it tells us something about His eternal character. The name “˜Jesus”™ means “He will save His people from their sins.” (See Matthew 1:21)
Jesus was also given the name of Emmanuel: “˜God with us”™. (See Matthew 1:23).
Jesus is God and He is always in the present tense, His name is the “˜I Am”™.
He described Himself as existing before the patriarch Abraham as IAM.”(See Amplified version John 8:58).
Your name is important and others know you when they hear your name.
Jesus”™ name is important for us to know Him when we hear His name.
Jesus declared Who He was, and what He was going to do in the coming hours of His crucifixion, death and resurrection.
(NASB) John 14:6 “Jesus said to him (Thomas), “˜I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Jesus is “˜the way”™ into God the Father”™s presence.
Jesus is “˜the truth”™ upon which we can build our lives with confidence.
Jesus is “˜the life”™ which everyone needs beyond this life.
When frustrations and/or fears invade your life ““ Jesus is available to turn to for help, comfort and security, for He is the “I Am”.
