Messiah”¦Prophecy of His Crucifixion
Jesus”™ crucifixion was predicted, prophesied ““ in detail ““ in the Psalms, by Isaiah and even Jesus Himself some weeks before.
Jesus”™ ministry was drawing to a close”¦and He set His face toward Jerusalem and the cross of crucifixion. One day, He took His twelve disciples aside and told them what would happen in amazing detail but they did not understand.
When you and I do not have a clear understanding of a concept or what is being said ““ we pass it off as either unimportant or “˜that doesn”™t affect me”™. Our comprehension, so many times, does not take in what we have not even imagined.
One of the lessons I have learned from the following Scripture: when Jesus speaks, I need to listen!
(NASB) Matthew 20:18-19 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death,
19 and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.”
Jesus would be betrayed and put into the hands of those who wanted to kill Him. Jews and Gentiles alike would be responsible for His death.
My sins and yours are also responsible for His death. No one is freed from the guilt of sin ““ all are guilty before the living God.
Jesus was crucified, just as He said. Did He orchestrate His death? From man”™s point of view, He couldn”™t have”¦events that were played out were seemingly beyond His control. Yet, those events fulfilled Scriptural references of prophecy. God is an amazing God!!!
So many times people stop at the crucifixion and forget about the rest of this prophecy”¦Jesus promised that He would be raised up on the third day after His death.
As committed followers of Christ, we have a living Hope, the living Lord Jesus Christ. Christian belief is of life because that is what God promises those who ask Jesus to be their Savior.
Have you received Jesus into your heart and life as your Savior and Lord? He is waiting for you to turn to Him, with your needs, your hurts, your sorrows and your joys.

If you are a follower of Christ”¦do you turn to Him in prayer and yield yourself to Him”¦do you tell Him what is hurting you, what is making you sorrowful, what gives you joy? Have you told Him you love Him recently?
