Jesus is”¦
Events in the world are filled with turmoil and “˜change”™. Many nations are in the throes of war, famine, economic upheaval, political chaos and fear.
Where can anyone go for a sense of security”¦real security? Many times when all else fails we turn to God.
Followers of Christ believe that He alone can give security in an insecure world.
Why should we turn to Him, especially if we do not trust Him or know Him for Who He Is?
God Himself has revealed something of Himself to us through His Son, His word (the Holy Bible) and through His Holy Spirit.
Who is Jesus?
(NASB) John 1:1-2 “IN THE beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.”
Jesus Christ was with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit at the time of creation:
(Amplified) Genesis 1:1-2 “IN THE beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.”
[In the Hebrew “In the beginning God“ is in the plural form of Elohim, so God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit were present at creation.]
Jesus is fully Man:
(NASB) Matthew 1:21 “She (Mary) will bear a Son; and you (Joseph) shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Jesus is fully God:
(NASB) Matthew 1:23 “”˜Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,”™ which translated means, “˜God with us.”™”
Jesus came to obey His Father”™s will. He died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for your sins and mine. Only Jesus (fully Man and fully God) can save you from your sins.
Think about this”¦the Creator of the galaxies”¦has personally come so you can be forgiven through what He has already done on the cross.
His name “˜Jesus”™ means “˜He will save His people from their sins”™, Savior.
His name “˜Immanuel”™ means “˜God with us.”™
Have you been saved from your sins, is He your Savior?
Is Jesus “˜Immanuel”™ (“˜God with us”™) to you?
If not“¦why not ask Him?
If so“¦why not give praise and thanksgiving to Him, the living God?
