Moses gave godly instructions to the people of Israel before they entered the land promised to them by God. (See Deuteronomy 10:12-13)

As followers of Christ we can also listen to these words and put them into practice ““ today.

(NASB) Deuteronomy 10:12-13 “Now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

13 and to keep the Lord”™s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?”

Godly instructions which have not changed over these thousands of years. In (NIV) Hebrew 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

God”™s words are eternal. (NIV) Psalm 119:89 “Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.”

God has not changed”¦His requirements are still in effect.

The Lord God has given instructions and illustrations of what pleases Him (walk with Him), what pains Him (my sins, your sins), and what we need to do to have a righteous relationship with Him (accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and not grieve or quench the Holy Spirit of God).

When the Psalmist asked that important question: (NASB) Psalm 15:1 “O LORD, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill?”

And when the Lord Jesus gave His Sermon on the Mount ““ ““ ““ we need to “˜listen up”™!

From Deuteronomy 10:12-13 we can ascertain the following:

We are to put these things into practice:

Fear the Lord God

Walk in all of His ways

Love Him

Serve Him wholeheartedly

Keep the Lord”™s commands ““ His commands are not an option

And don”™t you love this? All of these are for our “˜own good”™!!

God”™s words haven”™t changed! His words are for our own good!
