A teacher prepares lessons and tests to teach those who come to the class. The teacher has to know the subject being taught. It will be the pupils”™ choice and responsibility to learn.

Jesus was an amazing Teacher (and He still is!).

When you listen to a Biblically based sermon and/or read your Bible, how do you listen? Are you willing to learn and put what you learn into action?

Sometimes do you listen with a defensive mindset? Or do you listen with a critical attitude of what or how the sermon is given?

Sometimes people listen with a desire to really hear what they need to change in their lives as a result of the sermon or Scripture read.

Many times people listen to sermons to receive needed comfort, or come to understand the love of God for them.

Shouldn”™t we always listen with a sense of worship concerning the might of God from the Bible and His teachings?

(NASB) Matthew 5:1-2 “WHEN JESUS saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.

2 He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,”

When Jesus sees you coming to Him to be taught, He does just that! You and I can come to Him to worship Him, to listen to Him, to be taught by Him. Jesus sees you and me! Are we listening to Him?

In the coming weeks this devotional will be considering Jesus”™ Sermon on the Mount.

When we make ourselves available to Jesus and His teachings, He sees us and will teach us. Are we listening, are we willing to listen, to Him?

(NASB) Matthew 7:28-29 “When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching;

29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.”

When we listen, really listen, to Jesus”™ teachings ““ are we amazed at His authority?

And a second question, do we submit to His authority?

Carefully consider those two questions and answer them for yourself.
