So many times, parents feel at a loss about how to be good parents. Grandparents have “been there and done that” and have hindsight as to what they would change how they parented. For those who follow God”™s word there are many examples of how to be godly parents.

There is a Bible Study which gives out Training Lessons for parents with children. These lessons are scripturally based and are godly teachings for parents. What a blessing and guide parents have who attend Bible Study Fellowship International ““ men or women”™s studies. Go to the web and look for classes in your area.

There are other Bible Studies which also use God”™s word to provide godly advice to parents.

God the Father has demonstrated how to be that Father Who loves His Son. And Jesus has demonstrated how to be the Son with Whom the Father is well-pleased and delights in.

(NASB) Matthew 3:16 “After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him.”

Who saw the dove light on Jesus? It was John who had baptized Jesus and gave testimony to this event. It was John who told of hearing the voice of God:

(NASB) Matthew 3:17 “And behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “˜This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

The Amplified Version of the Bible uses “˜This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight!”™

Perhaps you had a parent(s) who delighted in you and expressed their love for you”¦count yourself fortunate and blessed. There are many who have not known the love of parents in that way. But each person can know God as their Father through Jesus Christ as Savior.

After being a Christian born into the family of God for many years, one day Romans 12:1 took on new meaning. I present my body as a living sacrifice to God for His use each day. As I thought about this verse the words “˜holy and acceptable to God”™ made a deep impression on me. To think that God has set me apart (holy), to think that I am pleasing to God! He has found me acceptable through His Son, Jesus Christ Who is my Savior.

Do you call God your Father? If not, you may want to ask Him to show you Himself as your Father. He is ready and willing to accept you, to be pleased by you through belief in Jesus as your Savior.
