Tests show how much we have learned and know. There are tests in our lives everyday that reveal how much we have learned about God and from God. These tests reveal our trust in God”¦or not.

As you read through this devotional the questions are for you.

(NASB) Matthew 2:19 “But when Herod died, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, and said,””¦

The Lord always sent an angel with His message to Joseph in a dream. The Lord had led Joseph with his wife and young child to Egypt, away from the murderous Herod.

Today, the Lord is consistent in communicating with all you seek Him ““ through His word and through other followers of Christ. At times, the Lord waits to answer prayer and our faith may be tested as we wait.

Here is a question which you alone can answer: How patient are you in waiting on God and His timing in your life, especially when He has put you into circumstances you would never have chosen?

Joseph trusted the Lord by going to Egypt and then staying there until God said differently.

Question: How trusting are you for God”™s directions through circumstances? How trusting are you for those He has placed in authority over you?

(NASB) Matthew 2:20 “”˜Get up, take the Child and His mother, and go into the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child”™s life are dead.”™”

God”™s directions were specific: leave Egypt and go back to Israel.

God”™s directions gave specific reasons for the change of where they were to live. Herod had died.

Question: How do you follow God”™s directions? Is it with joy, with dragging feet, perhaps with rebellion, or resentment, or not at all?

(NASB) Matthew 2:21 “So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.”

Joseph responded immediately. Mary was in accord with her husband ““ both listened to God and followed His directions.

Question: How well do you respond to God through another”™s leading?
