Gifts come wrapped in a variety of ways. They may be beautifully wrapped with a fancy bow. They may be tucked into a pretty bag with brightly colored paper peeking over the edges. They may come in an ordinary envelope or they may come in the form of a friend.

God has sent His gift of gold to be received by “˜whosoever will”™. This Gift of gold is the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Glory.

(NASB) Psalm 24:7 “Lift up your heads, O gates,

And be lifted up, O ancient doors,

That the King of glory may come in!”

Open gates, open doors for the King of glory to enter.

Open hearts and open minds for the King of glory to enter.

The wise men had brought Messiah gifts. The first gift mentioned is gold, a symbol of a king.

How can the King of glory be described?

(NASB) Psalm 24:8 “Who is the King of glory?

The Lord strong and mighty,

The Lord mighty in battle.”

Have you ever asked or been asked “Who is the King of glory?”

Why should anyone ask Him into their life?

The Psalmist answers that question: it is because the Lord is strong and mighty and we need His might in the battles we are in”¦every day. By ourselves we may be able to win skirmishes but not the big battles.

What battles are you fighting today?

(NASB) Psalm 24:9-10 “Lift up your heads, O gates,

And lift them up, O ancient doors,

That the King of glory may come in!

10 Who is this King of glory?

The Lord of hosts,

He is the King of glory.”

The King of Glory ““ God”™s gift of gold to you!
