The shepherds had rejoiced when they found baby Jesus in a manger, just as the angel had said.

The wise men rejoiced when they saw the star which led them to the child Jesus in a house.

(NASB) Matthew 2:9 “After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was.”

God used these circumstances for His word to be fulfilled and His purposes to be carried out for the wise men. And He will do that for you also. Your circumstances are for His purposes to be carried out in your life.

How you and I react to God in our circumstances is important and will reveal our relationship to Him.

The wise men (or magi) logically had gone to the capitol of Israel”¦to Jerusalem seeking the One born King of the Jews. They unwittingly alerted Herod to the rightful King on whose throne he sat. God”™s purposes were being fulfilled”¦His words seven hundred years earlier had been fulfilled with the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

(NASB) Matthew 2:10 “When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.”

True seekers of God and His will, will rejoice with exceeding great joy when He reveals the object of their search”¦Messiah!

As the time of Lent approaches”¦let us seek God and His Messiah with rejoicing ~ the Lord Jesus Christ ~ Immanuel (God with us).

(NASB) Psalm 13:5-6 “But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness;

My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

6 I will sing to the Lord,

Because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
