When you walk with God, it shows. God’s happiness which He gives is not fleeting or “˜pie-in-the-sky’ but a deep satisfying happiness, that is God’s blessing!

Being “˜blessed’ is having a deep satisfaction in God’s favor and His salvation, no matter what your circumstances are.

To know God and His blessings is to study the life of Christ…and receive Him as your personal Savior, to receive Him into your life…blessings indeed, true happiness!

(NASB) Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

What do you “˜hunger’ for? Many crave chocolate or desserts or drugs…as the opening paragraph indicates, people crave many things in this life…but so often there is no future or true, lasting satisfaction in them…for they are without God. The “˜world’ does not desire God or do what pleases Him. To find satisfaction, is to believe in God and what His Son has done for you. To be righteous before God is to desire to be in right standing before God Almighty.

What does God require? (NASB) Habakkuk 2:4b “But the righteous will live by his faith.”

For you and me to live by faith, we need an object for our faith. God says it is to be in His Son.

God states that to be truly happy and having a deep satisfaction are those who hunger and thirst to be right before God. God’s promiseto fill anyone who turns to Him in hunger and thirst is to be filled with righteousness.

What are you hungering and thirsting for today? Is it God Himself? Do you recognize your need to have the righteousness of God in your life or do you still depend on your own righteousness?
